My first Zaadz blog entry...

Hey, everyone,
I have several blogs that I run on my own, dealing primarily with politics. I want to use my Zaadz blog for hopes and dreams instead of the rants I usually write. I believe our culture, and by extension our world, is at an important crossroads. We are teetering between democracy and theocracy, patriarchy is in what I hope are its death throes and the Goddess is making a comeback. I'm committed to bringing Her back in a big way.
I'm not interested in converting people. I want them to open their minds to new possibilities. Anthropologists are finally admitting that humans are not naturally violent. We survived as a species through peaceful cooperation. We'll only continue to survive by returning to those original instincts - to work as a group; to share among the tribe; to care for those too weak or young to care for themselves. It all comes out of love. Love for Mother, a mother's love for her children, the children caring for their elders.
I know that most Progressives are non-believers. The only problem I see in that is that you can't replace something with nothing. Nature abhors a vacuum. We need to replace the image of a vengeful, jealous, judgemental father with a loving, all encompassing Mother Goddess. That image lies deep within all of us - it's our first memory, our birthright, our most natural inclination.
We have to be able to visualize peace to create it. We've been through 5-6,000 years of competition, greed, slavery, rape, murder, and misogyny, and all of it is reinforced with patriarchy. There are other theories, like Genevieve Vaughn's Gift Economy, and matriarchy existed in the past and still does in many areas of the world. Most people have never heard of them, and they've been indoctrinated to have a violent, knee-jerk reaction to any idea that has men and women in an equal role, or hints at matrifocal culture. You can't make an informed choice if you don't know all of the options. People with better information make better decisions. We need to get some truth into our history books, teach our Herstory in comparison, and let people choose from themselves.
This is a universal truth - the measure of a culture is the condition of its women. Women are 53% of the population, and have primary care of children almost everywhere. You can't have a free, peaceful, fair society if you keep more than half of the population in a perpetual state of poverty, fear, and oppression. Let's change that now - it's entirely possible. People need to know that - that it's possible. Then we can begin.
